“Brazil Iron Ore Mining to 2025 - Impact of COVID-19" provides a comprehensive coverage on Brazil’s iron ore mining industry with historical and forecast data on the country’s iron ore production and exports. The report list down the top iron ore mines by total reserves. The trade section briefs about Brazil’s major iron ore export destinations. An extensive demand drivers section provides information on demand from the Chinese steel and construction industries. The exports section provides information about top exports destinations, exports by country. It further includes profiles of Brazil’s largest iron ore producers, information on the major active, planned and exploration projects. The report also includes the regulatory framework of the country such as major regulatory bodies, laws, mining rights and taxes.

Brazil is home to the world’s second largest iron ore reserves, after Australia. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), Brazil had 34 billion tonnes (Bnt) of crude ore reserves as of February 2021, mainly located in the states of Minas Gerais and Para. In 2020, country’s iron ore production fell by 1.2% over 2019 - mainly due to lower output from the country’s largest producer Vale SA. The company’s production fell due to couple of reasons including tailings dam restrictions, a delay in the resumption of the Serra Norte mine, heavy rainfall and the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. In 2021, Vale is expected to have a resumption of 40Mt of capacity, taking its overall production capacity to 350Mt, compared with 322Mt in 2020. The major portion of the country’s iron ore production is meant for exports. China is the country’s largest export destination, which grew by 19.4% in 2020 over the previous year - mainly driven by strong demand from the country’s steel industry, resulting from a revival in construction activities.
